Have you found a fawn (baby deer) away from its mother?
STOP! Before you take any action, read the below information.
Mother deer leave their babies alone for many hours every day! Most fawns that are found alone in the wilderness are under the close supervision and care of their mothers, and do not need intervention from humans!
If you found a fawn, the only times that it needs help from humans is if:
It is Crying
It is Cold
It is Coming toward you (approaching people)
It is Covered with blood or insects
It has been Caught by a cat or a dog
If none of these conditions apply, leave the fawn where it is!
If you have found a fawn in need of help from a licensed rehabber, follow these two steps: 1. Fill out our mammal intake form found here: Fawn Intake Form 2. Call our fawn intake phone line at (530) 864-FAWN (3296).
**Please be cool to the critters - leave the fawns with their moms!**
